Complexes Sportifs Terrebonne conducted an energy savings project in all its sports facilities: Cité des sports, Centre de Soccer, Multiglace and Forum.
It includes lighting equipment modernization, refrigeration system energy recovery and optimization of control, heating and ventilation systems. The project, at a total cost of $1.5 million, is supported by various subsidies (Hydro-Québec, Gaz Métro), but will pay for itself in five years thanks to recurring annual energy savings of $265,932 set for the next five years. It will reduce the total energy consumption by 22% and greenhouse gases emissions by 378 tons of CO2.
With the collaboration of Énergère, a communication campaign was deployed in all buildings. The main actors of this campaign are all members of Complexes Sportifs Terrebonne, reinforcing the close link between the users and their sport centers.
