TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and Jour de la Terre Quebec are proud to announce the launching of the energy efficiency program Carbure à l’efficacité in small and medium-sized businesses.
Operating in schools since 2012, the program Carbure à l’efficacité is expanding and now allows medium-sized businesses in Quebec to win the chance to attend one of the five customized conferences on energy efficiency, with a focus on consumption this year. Hosted by Énergère, these conferences will be offered to businesses from all sectors of activity counting between 100 and 499 employees, in the cities of Gatineau, Laval, Montreal, Quebec and Sherbrooke.
Beijing and London Olympic kayaker Émilie Fournel, currently preparing for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, will act as the program spokesperson and support the energy efficiency experts in the presentation of these five conferences to be held in Spring 2016. « I have always been concerned about environmental issues, since water bodies and nature are my playground, and this program is an opportunity to take concrete action. That is very stimulating! Helping medium-sized businesses to embark on the journey toward greater sustainability is a challenge that I will face with the same determination that drives me during training » she said. The goal isn’t only to raise awareness among participating employees, but also to lead them to address these issues in their community.
Amélie Picher, Regional Director of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, welcomes this new strand of the program: « This partnership with Jour de la Terre Quebec enables us to reach and rally various actors on the subject of energy efficiency. Through the Carbure à l’efficacité program, schools and medium-sized businesses will be able to adopt concrete solutions in order to engage in the path of change. »
