The energy savings project is progressing well at the CSSS de Saint-Léonard et Saint-Michel
Le CSSS de Saint-Léonard et Saint-Michel is reducing the energy consumption and greenhouse gases emissions in its three nursing homes : Saint-Michel, Quatre-Temps and Quatre-Saisons. The energy efficiency project ($ 5.4 million) is characterized by:
- 41.5% reduction in energy consumption
- 57% reduction in greenhouse gases emissions
- energy savings of more than $378,000 annually
Geothermal energy is one of the measures that was put forward by the project. 10 wells up to 150 meters deep were drilled next to the Centre d’hébergement de Saint-Michel. This geothermal system will generate approximately 50% of the total annual energy savings. The project will be completed next summer.
